I also revisited the 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Grands Picotins from bottle, and it's showing just as well as it did from barrel and tank. Bursting with notes of plums, raspberries, orange rind, warm spices and rose petals—its fruit tones having modulated from black in the direction of red in the intervening year since I last encountered it—it's a medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy wine whose immediate charm almost risks distracting from impressive concentration and length.
