Tasting notes
The Prunotto 2022 Barolo Serra delivers the same sharpness and precision that I admire in the Mosconi, but here those qualities are expressed through the unmistakable personality of Serralunga d'Alba. From one of the appellation's highest vineyards at about 400 meters above sea level, this wine is threaded by a ferrous mineral note that runs seamlessly from the bouquet to the palate. Sweet cassis and raspberry are joined by delicate notes of violet and iris, creating a wine of impressive tension, focus and elegance. This is a 6,000-bottle release.

The 2022 Barolo Serra is a pretty, delicate wine from Prunotto. Lifted aromatics and sweet dried cherry fruit give this decidedly ethereal Barolo lovely complexity to match its somewhat fleeting personality. All the elements are very nicely balanced throughout.
