Tasting notes
The 2025 Mazeyres has a light gravel-tinged bouquet, earthy red fruit that just needs a little more brightness. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins, quite sweet and sorbet-like. Good acidity, but for want of a better expression, it does not articulate Pomerol DNA towards the finish. Enjoyable, though I am not convinced of its long-term capabilities.

A rocking little Pomerol, the 2025 Château Mazeyres is based on 71% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot. It reveals juicy red and blue fruits, graphite, and spring flower nuances on the nose, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a focused, pure, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, polished yet building tannins, and outstanding length.
The 2025 Mazeyres is a very beautiful, expressive Pomerol. Deeply pitched floral and savory overtones weave through a core of dark red/purplish fruit. Sage, tobacco, cedar, menthol, gravel and licorice build effortlessly. The 2025 finishes with terrific energy and lift. Cabernet Franc and a touch of Petit Verdot (unusual in Pomerol) add character.
The 2025 Mazeyres is promising, delivering notes of dark plumy fruit mingled with asphalt and licorice. Medium- to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with sweet, powdery tannins and succulent acids, this charming organically and biodynamically farmed Pomerol is produced by Alain Mouiex.
