Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2030-2046, Neal Martin, May 2026

The 2025 La Closerie de Clos Fourtet has an open bouquet with blackcurrant and blueberry scents, and a touch of violet emerging with time. Not complex, but there is admirable purity of fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, well-judged acidity and is a little spicier than the sibling Côte de Baleau, with clingy tannins on the finish; therefore, give this a year or two in bottle.

Darker red and blue fruits intermixed with candied violets, spring flowers, and graphite all define the 2025 La Closerie De Fourtet, a juicy, ripe, and incredibly satisfying second wine of Clos Fourtet. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, round, supple, and textured, with a great finish.

The 2025 La Closerie de Fourtet is a delicious second wine. Plump, juicy and quite giving, the 2025 has a lot to offer in its dark-toned fruit, cedar, spice and tobacco notes. La Closerie is a more accessible version of the Grand Vin, with a very pretty, soft mid-palate and gorgeous fruit, but naturally more structure than its sibling. Tasted two times.

A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2025 Closerie de Fourtet offers up attractive aromas of cherries and dark berries, followed by a medium- to full-bodied, polished and supple palate built around lively acids. It's derived mainly from parcels richer in clay and the estate's younger vines.
