Tasting notes
Based on 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc that's being raised in 30% new French oak with the balance in once-used barrels and amphora, the 2025 Château D'Agassac is a beautiful wine with ripe, pure aromatics of red and black fruits, graphite, violets, and tobacco nuances. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's focused, with fine tannins and beautiful overall balance. It's going to be a hidden gem in the vintage, and I’d certainly be happy with a bottle on the table.

The 2025 d'Agassac is laced with hints of macerated cherry, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, mint and crushed autumn leaves. The aromatics are quite attractive; all this needs is a bit more polish around the edges. Let's see what élevage brings. Tasted two times.
