Tasting notes
The 2025 Connetable Talbot, which represents 30% of the production, has a pretty bouquet with blackcurrant and wild strawberry scents, and a light floral iris flower note that emerges with time. Open-knit. The palate is medium-bodied, with grainy tannins, just a little dryness on the mid-palate, but it maintains balance and has an appealing tobacco-tinged, classically styled finish. It will just need one or two years in bottle.

A blend of 58% Merlot and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2025 Connetable de Talbot offers up an elegant and perfumed bouquet of cassis, mulberries, spices and violet, mingled with notes of dark cherry. Medium-bodied and juicy, it’s round and supple, framed by velvety tannins and concluding with a long, perfumed finish. Less dense and powerful than some recent vintages, it instead privileges drinkability.
About the producer

Quality has not necessarily always lived up to this property’s Fourth Growth status, however there have been significant improvements in recent years, with a sustainable focus in the vineyard, and new winery and cellar.
