Tasting notes
The 2025 Château de Camensac has an attractive nose, cedar and graphite-tinged black fruit, classical in style with a "cool" marine element. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip on the entry. Fine acidity, maybe just a tad rustic in style, with an off-dry, pencil-shaving-tinged finish. Gentleman's claret in the positive sense of that expression.

Spicy red and black fruits, smoky tobacco, and damp herbs all define the 2025 Château De Camensac, a solid Haut-Médoc that's medium-bodied on the palate, with a nicely balanced mouthfeel, good concentration, and tons of charm and character.
This has an attractive nose of asphalt and pure dark fruit. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with focused, fine-grained tannins, dark fruit and good balance. A powerful expression, but restrained.
The 2025 de Camensac is a super-expressive Haut-Médoc. Sweet pipe tobacco, dried herbs, menthol, licorice, espresso, macerated cherry and blood orange are very nicely lifted. The long, clean finish reverberates beautifully.
About the producer

A stone’s throw from Saint-Julien, Ch. de Camensac was long underperforming, but – under the ownership of the Merlaut-Villars family – was totally restructured, and quality transformed.
