Most people who buy this estate's red wines want to get as many of Clair's Gevrey-Chambertins as possible. The Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers is an animal-scented, rather savage (or as the French say sauvage) wine with a wild berry, game-like character. It is rich and full on the palate with a great deal of muscle, tannin, and body. It needs a few years to shed some of its toughness, but should drink well for the rest of this century.
