Released only in magnum and one of the absolute blockbusters in this brilliant vintage, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The G.T.O is a deep purple-hued monster of a wine and easily one of the biggest in the lineup from Carter. Ripe blackcurrants, black olives, tobacco, wood smoke, and chocolate define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied, deep, multi-dimensional, and concentrated on the palate, with ripe tannins and a great, great finish. If this doesn't put a smile on your face, I don't know what will. Give this beauty 2-4 years in the cellar and drink over the following 30 years. Drink 2029-2059.

Blended from Blocks D2 and E2, Carter's 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon The GTO matures in 100% new French oak, predominantly heavy toast, which seems to complement the wine beautifully. Layers of black cherries, licorice and mocha join deep, dark loam notes in this full-bodied, velvety-textured effort, which turns silky and supple on the long-lingering finish. On a long afternoon filled with impressive barrel samples, this one stood out as one of the most complete wines in the Russell Bevan stable. To be bottled in magnums only.
