The incredible 1964 Madeira Boal Frasqueira was produced with grapes from vines that don't exist anymore in the south of the island. It matured for 45 years in a single 650-liter oak cask and later in a glass demijohn until bottling. It has extreme parameters, a pH of 3.28, 10.23 grams of acidity (and 1.52 grams of volatile acidity) and 88 grams of sugar, while the alcohol stayed at 19.5%. This is the darkest wine, the more aromatic one and with a more concentrated palate. This is a mythical wine at Justino's and rightly so, because the wine is superb. It's textbook Boal, with notes of caramelized orange peel and banana liqueur, spices and herbs with a pungent palate, complexity and depth, really harmonious. 861 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2016. This was the last bottling of this wine, the sixth; all the remaining wine was bottled.
