Score 90/100 · Drink 1995-2007, Robert Parker, Apr 1995
The 1993 may be the most impressive Mataro (Mourvedre) yet produced by Ridge. The 100-year old vines from the Bridgehead Vineyard have turned out a full-bodied, rich, earthy, black fruit-scented wine crammed with dense, chewy fruit buttressed by considerable tannin. It also displays an alluring, underlying, smoky, cassis component. This impressive wine promises to age well for 10-12 years. Tel. (408) 867-3233
