Tasting notes
From an uncomplicated, well-balanced vintage without any climatic extremes, the yellow-golden 1994 Riesling Zöbinger Ried Heiligenstein Alte Reben opens clear, coolish and herbal on the pure and fresh nose that is clearly driven by the terroir, very precise, flinty and very delicate. Filigreed yet incredibly intense, ripe, spicy and piquant on the palate, this is a highly elegant and delicate yet also compact and firmly structured yet harmonious Heiligenstein classic, perhaps the finest before 2016. This is a great, refined and sustainable Riesling. Tasted at the domain in September 2019.

From a very handsome magnum. Pale gold. Very complex nose with real finesse. Density but not power. Bone dry with great balance. Very vital and dancing. Racy. Neat not lush. (JR)
