Tasting notes
Produced from 10% Cabernet Franc, 25% Merlot (both from the Ciel du Cheval vineyard), and 65% Cabernet Sauvignon (from the Mercer Ranch vineyard), the medium-to-dark ruby-colored 1996 Sorella offers super-sweet red fruit and Asian spice aromas. This gorgeously deep wine is crammed with cherries, raspberries, blackberries, brambleberries, and fresh herbs. Fruit driven, it is concentrated and extracted, the most tannic and backward wine I've tasted from Chris Camarda. Unlike his other offerings, this wine will require cellaring. Drink it between 2002 and 2010+. Bravo! Note: The Andrew Will Winery is located in a residential neighborhood on Vashon Island. An ordinance prevents Anne and Chris Camarda from receiving visitors to the winery as it would impose on their neighbor's privacy. Tel. (206) 463-3290.

Dark ruby-red. Aromas of crystallized raspberry, redcurrant, mocha and game. Juicy and very intensely flavored; really penetrating inner-mouth flavor of liqueur-like raspberry. Lively acids give the fruit a penetrating, sappy quality. A faint herbal/minty/dill quality further brightens the wine's firmly tannic finish. Held up very well in the open bottle.
