Tasting notes
Full bottle an admirably light 1,228 g. 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 2% Malbec. The project of the late financial guru Mac McQuown who also founded Enclos restaurant in Sonoma. 24 barrels produced. Transparent crimson. Luscious, lifted and with some marked tannin but not forced, sappy and not too sweet. Clearly made to age and to be drunk with food, so quite unusual. Good persistence and appetising. I’m going to decant this before serving it tonight. (JR)

The 2021 Silver Cloud is a gorgeous, layered Moon Mountain wine. Plum, blueberry, graphite, gravel, incense and licorice build nicely in the glass, lending notable complexity throughout. The inclusion of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot in the blend works so well in building layers of nuance and complexity. The 2021 can be enjoyed now, but it will also drink well for a number of years.
