The 2024 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes (Domaine Louis Jadot) bursts with notes of buttery citrus fruit, apples and pear. Medium-bodied, with a fleshy, charming attack and an open-knit, somewhat simple palate, it will make for easy drinking out of the gates.

The 2024 Meursault Les Charmes ler Cru has a very capable bouquet with yellow plum, hints of hazelnut and litchi, a light menthol note hanging out off-stage. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Not as complex or as mineral-driven as the best Charmes this vintage, though it has a linearity and focus that is commendable. I would just like to see more nerve on the finish but otherwise a competent Meursault-Charmes.

In foudre, so not quite so clear and shows a little bit of lees infused reduction on the nose. Only moderate depth of fruit here and a fair acidity. From two plots, in the lower part of the vineyard, the Charmes was picked a week after the other two Meursaults.
