Score 90/100 · Drink 2019-2032, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2016
The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir saw 20% new oak and 80% used for 11 months. It was showing some reduction on the nose that is pleasant, though it detracted from terroir expression and mineralité. The palate is well balanced with powerful, lightly honeyed fruit, again a little SO2 to deal with here; the finish feels a little smudged, dominated by winemaking intent rather than the terroir. Give this a couple of years in bottle at least, in order to address its issues, because there is a decent Vaudesir underneath.
