Tasting notes
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Armstrong Vineyard is a deeply hued Cabernet that comes from a terraced vineyard outside of Calistoga. Lots of masculine dark fruits, charred meats, and cedary spice notes emerge from this full-bodied 2017, which has terrific mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and a balanced, complete, impressive style that’s going to evolve for 15-20 years with no issues.

Stu Lerner's 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Armstrong Vineyard, from a site on Diamond Mountain, is powerful, dark and intense, with tons of mountain character that distinguishes it in this range. Gravel, smoke, licorice, tar, incense and black cherry are some of the many notes that develop with a bit of time in the glass. Like all of these wines, the Armstrong is not exactly subtle, but it sure has a lot going on.
