Score 94/100 · Drink 2016-2031, Robert Parker, Dec 2016
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Coliseum Block is a 160-case cuvée that picks up the intensity level of fruit extract. It has a nice, sweet, earthy undertone, tobacco leaf, licorice, loads of blackcurrants and spicy oak. The wine is full-bodied, rich, hedonistic and lush. Drink it over the next 15 or so years.

Dark cherry, mocha, espresso, grilled herbs, licorice and dark spices infuse the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Coliseum Block. The 2014 is dense, powerful and super-concentrated. At the same time, all the elements are in the right place. Mountain tannins underpin the fruit nicely in this super-expressive Cabernet from Mark Carter.
