Tasting notes
The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino is a juicy and succulent expression of Sangiovese with a ripe and exuberant set of dark fruit aromas. The bouquet is sultry and generous with blackberry preserves and dried cherry or syrupy crème de cassis. This Brunello offers a soft, fleshy texture that would pair next to grilled or roasted meat dishes. Some 50,000 bottles were made.

Mid ruby with bright, bricky tinges. Bold fruit on the nose and compact fresh fruit on the palate wrapped up in stalky tannins that dominate the finish. Not super-complex or long, but satisfying. (WS) (JR)
The plum and dried berry character is intense with some flower undertones. Full body, rich and layered. Flavorful finish. Fruitier style. Drink in 2019.
