2021 Ca'di Press Barolo Perno

The Ca' di Press 2021 Barolo Perno comes from the Perno MGA, bottled as such since 2020, while earlier releases were under the broader Monforte d’Alba designation, reflecting the family’s growing confidence in this site, or what I like to call full-on "Perno pride." The wine shows a beautiful ruby color with light transparency and opens with a soft and graceful mid-palate before tightening into a firm, mouth-coating tannic bite that expands across the palate. Small-berry perfumes of cassis and wild cherry mingle with mineral tones, balsamic nuances and a distinctly salty finish, creating an ethereal and delicate expression that gains dimension as the wine warms in the glass.
