The 2012 La Grola is dark and earthy, with underbrush and dried savory herbs giving way to mocha and plum. This is silky-smooth and lifted in feel, also incredibly floral, with pretty red berries and sweet spices that wash effortlessly across the palate. A vivid note of dark, dark chocolate persists, as this tapers off long and remarkably fresh, leaving a tinge of savory herbaceousness. I don’t see this getting any better, but it’s a pleasure to taste today.

A red with lots of tannin, mint and berry character. Fresh herbs. Full body, firm tannins and a fruity finish. This is very structured for La Grola. Try in 2016.
