Tasting notes
The 2005 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Colombis showcases dried black fruits, melted licorice and subtle herbal tones. Full-bodied and concentrated, it reflects a later-harvest style that differs from today’s practices, and yet freshness is very well maintained. The 2005 is fully mature with excellent equilibrium and no mushroom notes at all. It finishes long, complex and refined.

(zero new oak this year) Dark red. Bright strawberry and raspberry aromas are sharpened by white pepper and baking spices, and show a zesty mineral urgency. Racy, finely etched red fruit flavors are firmed by gentle tannins and finish with excellent cut and length. More energetic than the 2006, which shows the sweetening influence of its new oak today.
