Tasting notes
The 2022 Veracity is a blend of 54% Mourvèdre, 28% Grenache and 18% Syrah aged 17 months in 38% new French oak. One of the darkest, most savory wines in the portfolio, it leads with damp earth, blueberry compote, new leather and asphalt aromas. The palate wonderfully balances slick, robust fruit density with a nimble, energetic lift, finishing on a charred, woody note with uncommonly fine-grained tannins for the vintage and a pleasant framing of new oak that should integrate with time It's another winner in the Epoch lineup.

More Mourvèdre-dominated, the 2022 Veracity is 54% Mourvèdre, 28% Grenache, and 18% Syrah that was all destemmed and aged 17 months in 40% new puncheons and barrels. Ripe black raspberries, spicy herbs, pepper, and subtle leather notes all emerge from this beauty, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, seamless mouthfeel, fabulous overall balance, and a great finish. It’s going to shine over the coming decade and is beautifully done.
The Mourvèdre-dominated 2022 Veracity wafts up with a darkly floral bouquet of peppery rose, menthol, citrus zest and crushed blackberries. Lifted and graceful in style, it offers fresh acidity and crisp mineral tones that add depth to ripe red berry fruit. Edgy tannins linger through the spicy finale, finishing with medium length and a distinctly cool-toned feel. The Veracity will require patience to reveal its best self.
