Tasting notes
The 2024 Chenin Blanc is at once grassy and rounded, delivering a fresh array of yellow apple, green melon, white flowers and sea salt. Honeyed richness is measured and balanced, leading to a clean, crisp finish with lovely inner tension.

The 2024 Chenin Blanc was matured for six months, mostly in stainless steel, with smaller portions of used French oak and concrete. It has pure, ringing aromas of peach, pear and green guava, beeswax, spice and floral perfume. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly styled with tempered ripeness, a softly mouth-coating texture, linear acidity and a long finish. 1,010 cases were made.
Pouring a pale silver/yellow, the 2024 Chenin Blanc comes from vines planted in the 1940s within the Clarksburg region of the Sacramento Valley. One of my favorite affordable whites in the range, it’s fresh and quite expressive, with notes of white peach, fresh tropical flowers, tangerine, and wet stone. The palate is elegant and medium-bodied, with a lovely fresh-fruited feel, a dry, chalky texture, and its pure fruit shining through a rather long finish. It was raised primarily in stainless steel, with 20% in neutral French oak and a small 5% in concrete tank. While it’s bottled under screwcap, this is a wine that should hold up over the coming 5-6 years.
