Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Fragrant, complex scents of dried cherry, pungent herbs, potpourri and licorice. Taut and focused, with spicy red berry and bitter cherry flavors, a hint of candied licorice and dusty tannins. The licorice and cherry notes repeat on the long, gently chewy, linear finish. This deserves some patience.

The 2008 Crianza was aged for 12 months in French oak. It exhibits a pleasing perfume but is tightly wound on the palate. This reticent offering will need several years of cellaring to blossom; it seems to have the right stuff but there is no guarantee. Pago de los Capellanes’ wines are made from 100% Tempranillo.
