A terrific value, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Jurisdiction checks in as 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc that spent 20 months in 62% new French oak. As with the Jurisprudence release, this comes from throughout the valley, with fruit mostly from Oakville, yet smaller amounts from St. Helena, Rutherford, and Coombsville. It’s one of the more sweetly fruited, front end-loaded wines in the lineup and boasts a dense purple color as well as loads of red and black currant fruits, notes of baking spices, new leather, and spiced meats, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It’s a sexy beast of a Cabernet to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years.
