Score 95-97/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2023
All varietal and from estate fruit, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Gandona was vinified in concrete and is resting in 70% new French oak. It has a darker, pure, medium to full-bodied style as well as terrific aromatics of cassis, graphite, lead pencil, and tobacco leaf. A quintessential Cabernet, it will benefit from just short-term cellaring.

The 2021 Gandona is another superb wine from the estate. Black cherry, mocha, chocolate, spice and cloves race across the palate. Inky and explosive to the core, the 2021 is super-promising, but also shockingly tannic considering its flamboyant fruit. This base blend is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
