Tasting notes
Pure cassis and blueberry fruits intermixed with smoked tobacco, graphite, and spring flowers emerge from the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Hideaway. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows a ripe, layered, incredibly pure mouthfeel, with polished tannins, fabulous balance, and a great finish. It's more red-fruited, mineral-laced, and structured compared to its siblings. Drink 2025-2037.

Red volcanic soils underlie the vineyard sources for the 2022 Mountain Estates Cabernet Sauvignon Hideaway. Bold cassis and more than a hint of sage appear on the nose, while the palate is full-bodied, concentrated and supple. It's easy to drink already, even if it does firm up slightly on the softly dusty finish. It's a fine effort, even if it doesn't quite match the intricate floral nuances or exquisite texture of the 2021.
