Tasting notes
The 2021 Silberberg de Rorschwihr Riesling is very clear, fresh and precise on the tonic, lemony and iodine-scented but still discreet nose that is also reminiscent of grapefruit bitters and concentrated apricots. Dense, very savory and saline on the palate, this is a straightforward, almost dry-tasting Riesling with remarkable acidity that could wake the dead. 13% stated alcohol, plus 20 grams of residual sugar and 10 grams per liter of tartaric acidity. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024.

The 2021 Riesling Silberberg de Rorschwihr hails from a site of silicified Triassic limestone. A lovely smokiness surrounds crushed clover, deaf nettle, lemon and wet chalk aromas. This is citric in its entire outlook, with exquisite linearity. The 2021 is a wonder of luminous freshness with 18 g/L of residual sweetness. (Dry)
