The 2006 On The White Keys has aged impeccably. Readers who enjoy mature white wines will adore the 2006. All the elements are beautifully balanced. At age ten, the 2006 retains terrific freshness and energy that carries through to the finish. I wouldn't push my luck too much longer, but there is little question the 2006 is impressive today.

(85% sauvignon blanc from Sonoma Mountain and 15% semillon from Hyde Vineyard in Carneros) Medium yellow. Pungent aromas of lemon, pineapple, fresh herbs, honey and hay, with a hint of lanolin. Then pure, dry and zesty in the mouth, with mouthwatering flavors of orange peel, stone fruits, hazelnut and spices framed by bright acidity. Very fresh and harmonious white wine, not to mention long on the aftertaste.
Charismatic auctioneer Fritz Hatton’s love of music is the basis for the play on words for Arietta, all serious wines produced from innovative blends, especially the Variation One. These are distinctive and dramatic wines, and it is good to see a new addition to the portfolio, the blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon, The White Keys. The 2006 version reveals terrific grapefruit and other honeyed citrus notes intermixed with some guava and white currant.
