Score 89/100 · Drink 2003-2015, Robert Parker, Dec 2003
The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Monitor Ledge Vineyard is not shyly priced, but it is impeccably well-made. The deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by hints of licorice and spice. Medium-bodied and elegant, with sweet tannin and a stylish, feminine personality, it should drink well for 10-12 years. Tel. (707) 963-7108

Bright, saturated ruby-red. Aromas of black raspberry, coffee grounds, root beer, mocha, maple syrup and oak. Full, generous and sweet, with black rasbperry, bitter chocolate and espresso flavors showing a faintly medicinal aspect. Finishes with serious, dusty tannins that come across as a bit drier than those of the estate bottling.
