Tasting notes
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard, deep ruby-purple in color, offers graphite-laced cassis with nuances of licorice, sweet spices, violets and cigar box. The full-bodied palate is firm and plush, its ripe fruits tempered by mineral nuances, and it finishes long with good freshness. 150 cases were made.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard is also beautiful, with plenty of red and black currants, toasted spice, graphite, and smoked tobacco-like aromas and flavors. It shows a gravelly, Graves-like smoky, earthy mineral character with time in the glass and is full-bodied, beautifully balanced, has silky tannins, and a great finish. It shows the more streamlined style of the 2017 vintage and is going to evolve gracefully for 15-20 years.
