Score 94/100 · Drink 2024-2032, Eric Guido, Vinous, Jan 2024

The 2021 Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton is dark and brooding, slowly awakening in the glass with suggestions of dried strawberries complemented by subtle hints of clove, allspice and pine. Sleek and racy in style, this possesses a core of zesty acidity that excites the senses as ripe wild berries swirl over a coating of chalky minerals. The 2021 leaves a pleasantly chewy sensation and layer of dusty tannins, finishing long but only lightly structured with a lingering hint of licorice.
