Tasting notes
Medium red. Pungent, perfumed aromas of raspberry, red cherry, smoke, leather and minerals. Ripe and sweet but firm on the palate, with red fruit, baking spice and earth flavors framed by edgy acidity. Finishes firmly tannic and slightly tart-edged.

The 2003 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch probably has just as much potential as the Sonoma Coast, but it is less expressive and more tannic and backward. Notions of rose petals, strawberries, cherries, and a hint of raspberries emerge from the restrained, tight bouquet. Medium-bodied with lovely ripeness, purity, and texture as well as firm tannins, it needs another 1-2 years of bottle age and should drink well for 6-7. Tel. (707) 942-4699; Fax (707) 942-5142
