Tasting notes
Pale ruby, the 2015 Pinot Noir Coastlands Vineyard is scented of tar, bright cranberries, iron shavings and aniseed with deeper tones of blackberries and blood orange. Medium-bodied, the palate is savory, firm and mineral laced, with seamless freshness and a long, iron-tinged finish.

A wine of real density and power, the 2015 Pinot Noir Coastlands Vineyard is going to need at least a few years to come into its own. Today, the tannins are forbidding. Even so, there is more than enough depth and resonance to show what the wine is made of. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, menthol, licorice and wild flowers all fill out the wine's ample frame. The 2015 is a complete, vivid Pinot that will thrill those fortunate to own it. Because of the tiny yields of the vintage, Cobb added fruit from his Old Firs and 1906 blocks (which are often bottled separately) into the Coastlands Pinot.
