Tasting notes
Lastly, the 2020 G2 Vineyard is largely Syrah yet includes 5% Mataro and 4% Grenache. It was fermented all in stainless steel tanks and spent 22 months in 90% new French oak. Lots of smoky black and blue fruits, graphite, crushed stone, and some peppery, meaty notes define the aromatics, and it brings the most richness and depth on the palate (no doubt due to the large Syrah component) with firm tannins and a great finish.

The 2020 Syrah G2 is rock-star juice. Dark, alluring and intense, it smolders up with a blend of crushed blackberries and black cherries accentuated by smoky bacon fat and lavender. It's silky-smooth, almost velvety in feel, with depths of dark red and black fruits that flow across a core of saline minerals and zesty acids. There is so much depth and concentration as the G2 tapers off incredibly long with edgy tannins and dark chocolate hints that slowly fade. The G2 is a blend of 91% Syrah, 5% Mataro and 4% Grenache, refined in 100% new French oak, 300-liter barrels. Bury it in your cellar for the best results, but there's already so much pleasure to be found here today.
