Coming from the back of the property in St. Helena and 95% Cabernet Franc blended with 3% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2021 Cabernet Franc spent 22 months in new French oak (mostly Taransaud and Darnajou). It's a brilliant wine that has an utterly classy profile of red and black fruits, spicy oak, dried flowers, chocolate, and graphite. This carries to a full-bodied, plush, seamless, layered Cabernet Franc that has perfectly integrated oak, fine tannins, and a great finish. As with all Sinegal wines, it has the fruit and texture to drink well today yet will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and have two decades of life.

The 2021 Cabernet Franc Old Vine is a dense, full-bodied wine. Today, the wine's concentration stands out most, while varietal notes are more in the background. Readers will have to be patient here, as the 2021 is going to need time to shed some its baby fat. Dark red-toned fruit, mocha, dried rose petal and spice build into the racy, deeply-textured finish. The 2021 is incredibly primary today.
Sinegal's Cabernet Franc Old Vine is once again fabulous in 2021. Rich, deep and explosive, the 2021 possesses tremendous density and tons of power. Ripe dark cherry, plum, rose petal, spice, mint and blood orange all run through this racy, beautifully layered Franc. Like all the 2021s here, the Franc is on the lighter side, the result of relatively gentle extractions. Even so, the Franc here is so distinctive,
