Score 88/100 · Drink 2000-2005, Robert Parker, Jun 2000
An Amarone-like late harvest character can be found in the 1998 Pagani Ranch (a blend of 88% Zinfandel, 9% Alicante, and 3% Petite Sirah). A dense ruby color is followed by scents of melted road tar, animal fur, sweet, jammy plums, and smoky cherries. Medium to full-bodied, not terribly complex, but round and chewy, this wine should be consumed over the next 4-5 years. Tel. (408) 867-3233
