1986 Orion Syrah

(13.6% alcohol; only six barrels produced): Healthy medium red. Amazingly fresh red cherry fruit complemented by a note of coffee on the pretty, almost pinot-like nose. Then juicy and bright but a bit green and tart in the mouth, showing limited complexity to the red fruit, herb and spice flavors. A touch sour on the end. Still alive, but drink soon.
