Tasting notes
The 2019 Mr. Evans Proprietary Red contains 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 11% Petit Verdot. Made in a similarly approachable style to the Cabernet Sauvignon, it boasts complex notions of licorice, black cherry, dark chocolate and mocha on the nose, while being plush and full-bodied on the palate. The lengthy finish is velvety and savory, with hints of black olives.

The 2019 Mr. Evans Proprietary Red is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, all aged 19 months in new barrels. Medium to full-bodied, rich, and plush, it has lots of Merlot character as well as notes of black fruits, black olives, tobacco, and chocolate. Drink this delicious, ripe, supple beauty over the coming 10-15 years.
The 2019 Proprietary Red Mr. Evans is packed with blackberry jam, mocha, new leather, spice, tobacco and licorice. This rich, exuberant wine offers tons of immediacy and appeal. Healthy dollops of Merlot and Petit Verdot complement the Cabernet so well. Roy Estate fans and lovers of opulent wines will adore the 2018.
