Tasting notes
Rivetti's 2007 Barbaresco Bricco Riserva is dark, fleshy and sensual, yet retains an essentially delicate, mid-weight personality. Sweet red cherries, plums, spice cake and dried flowers blossom in the glass over time. The 2007 boasts gorgeous mid-palate pliancy and a round, caressing finish. It can be drunk now or cellared for up to a decade. The 2007 Riserva has the persistence and depth I find missing in the 2009 Bric Micca.

Neive. Concentrated maturing ruby with orangey rim. Balsamic and ripe and quite mature. Sweet oak mingles with dried fruit and spice. Potential crowd pleaser, if lacking in complexity. Ends quite sweet and rich. Big style for Barbaresco. (WS)
