Tasting notes
The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Gateway is dusty and floral with crushed raspberries, cherries, plums, sweet tobacco and crushed ashen stone. It's soft and enveloping with polished red and blue fruits, all motivated by brisk acidity. A caking of chalky minerality is left lingering as the 2020 finishes with admirable length and concentration through the pleasantly chewy finale.

Racy, sweet berries, hawthorn and dark cherries. A little “sweeter,” denser and more generous, showing some power, fine extraction and a lengthy finish. Very silky and layered. Very giving. Drink or hold.
The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Gateway Vineyard should be a beautiful wine. It has a classic Cabernet nose of blackcurrants, tobacco, lead pencil, and chalky minerality. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, I love its purity of fruit, and it has quality tannins as well as outstanding length. All of the single vineyard releases from My Favorite Neighbor showed well, and these should be outstanding wines.
