Tasting notes
Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the eastern side of Coombsville, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville reveals a deep purple color as well as ripe currants, tobacco, spiced plums, and chocolate aromas and flavors. With terrific ripeness, medium to full body, and notable freshness, it's a classic, ageworthy Cabernet. Drink it over the coming 20-25 years. It's a beautiful wine.

Rewa's 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is impressive. Nothing really stands out; instead it is the wine's balance that is just sensational. The track record is very short - it only goes back to 2015, but in 2017, the heat seems to have baked out some of the more aggressive aromatics and tannins this wine has shown in the past, especially in 2016. Seamless, opulent and beautifully ripe, the 2017 will drink well pretty much right out of the gate. Winemaker Celia Welch gave the 2017 22 months in French oak, about 75% new.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon—made form 100% Cabernet Sauvignon—delivers notions of prunes, crème de cassis, raisin cake and Chinese five spice with hints of rose hip tea and dusty soil plus a waft of iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a chewy frame and plenty of ripe, plum preserves and spice cake flavors with a distinctive minerality to the finish. 410 cases were made.
