The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Houyi Vineyard is based on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 18 months in 75% new French oak. Its dense purple hue is followed by a stunning bouquet of blue and black fruits interwoven with graphite, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and toasted spice. With full-bodied richness, a deep, layered, concentrated mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great, great finish, this is a stunning wine. Give bottles 4-6 years if you can (it's gorgeous even today). It will be a 30-year wine.

From a site on Pritchard Hill now owned by Realm, Plinth's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Houyi Vineyard is inky-hued in the glass, an impenetrable purple. Fragrant and even a bit floral, it offers up scents of dried thyme, French-roast coffee beans and dark, plum and cassis fruit. Full-bodied and concentrated, it's rich and velvety in texture, with ample length and a touch of warmth on the finish.
