Tasting notes
The 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes opens in the glass with notes of black raspberries, sweet spices, petals and loamy soil. Medium-bodied, bright and lively, with a concentrated core of fruit, refined tannins and a long, perfumed finish. I can't wait to see how it develops with a little bottle age.

The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Damodes 1er Cru has a tightly wound bouquet of raspberry and blackberry fruit, slightly withdrawn at the moment but opening nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly stalky opening. Good acidity, freshness and race, though it needs a little more length on the finish. I just think less whole bunch – say, 50% – would have matched the fruit better here.
