Tasting notes
There’s a cool-toned freshness to the 2006 Brunello di Montalcino as a whiff of sweet smoke mixes with nuances of plum and sage. The texture is silky smooth, enhanced by juicy acidity that adds vibrancy to the remnants of tart red and black fruit. It’s gently chewy and long, leaving subtle mineral tones and hints of bitter blackberry.

Bright full red. Captivating nose combines plum, currant, sour cherry, dried flowers and nuts, plus a suggestion of white fruits. Then pure silk on the palate, with the terrific intensity and superb subtle sweetness of an outstanding bottle. Wonderfully spherical and mouthcoating sangiovese. The chewy, saline finish leaves the salivary glands vibrating. Tannins are in perfect harmony with the wine's fruit.
The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is a relatively straightforward, plump Brunello with excellent definition in its dark fruit. Sweet tobacco, spices, licorice and French oak add complexity on the mid-palate and finish. Nardi's 2006 Brunello is an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years.
