Tasting notes
Based on 100% Merlot from sandy clay loam soils, the 2022 Château Faizeau offers menthol, tobacco, red and black fruit, and floral notes on the nose. Aged 12 months in oak (50% new, 50% one-year-old), it’s medium-bodied and enjoyable, with a soft, supple, and delicious style. Drink over the coming 5-7 years.

The 2022 Faizeau holds onto the tertiary elements on the nose that I observed from barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with furry tannins. It's light-bodied on the finish, slipping down the throat almost unnoticed.
Deep inky colour, this is intense, high extraction giving fleshy black fruits, dark chocolate. Rolland consultancy, Helfrich family owners. 40hl/h yield, harvest September 19 to 27, 50% new oak.
