Tasting notes
Full bottle 1,637 g. Clear as a bell on the nose: apples, apple blossom. Masses of fresh apple fruit on the palate but also a delicate spiciness – cardamom, tarragon, nutmeg. Fragrant, fluent, the bubbles feel as if they’ve been embroidered into the wine, like tiny jewels. This is so, so pretty. (TC)

A creamy and refreshing blanc de blancs that has lemon, chalk and white-peach aromas, plus some almond cream. It’s silky and supple, with a well-balanced, rounded finish. Drink now.
The 2018 Champagne Blanc De Blancs is a shimmering silver-straw color and is lifted and expressive on opening, with aromas of chalky earth, honeysuckle, and fresh pear. It offers more clarity than 2017, which was tasted alongside it, with a crystalline freshness throughout. Medium-bodied, with a lively mousse that accentuates a white pepper note on the palate, it is clean and elegant, with its floral and pithy citrus coasting through the finish. It is an attractive wine to enjoy over the coming 6-8 years.
The 2018 Blanc de Blancs from Champagne Deutz reveals a delicate, fresh bouquet with aromas of menthol, green apple, herbs and spring flowers, followed by a medium-bodied palate that is ripe and textural with a somewhat high-level dosage.
