From magnum. Pale ruby. Too old with brown sugar aromas on the nose. Cheesy. Very light, and fun if you have a tolerance for old wine and chaptalisation character. Light and not really appetising any more with its edge of decay. (JR)

The delicious licorice and cassis-scented and flavored 1953 Talbot was a lovely, complex, beautifully balanced St.-Julien with no hard edges and plenty of fruit. Last tasted 12/95
