Score 89-90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2006
Good ruby-red. Black cherry, cassis, chocolate and brown spices on the nose. Sweet and lush on the palate, but with good lift to the currant, tobacco and cola flavors. Sweeter and finer-grained than the 2003 example, with underlying minerality and firm tannins giving shape to the wine.
